Joyantee Raina is a documentary photographer based in Bangladesh. Before starting photography, she completed her education in Women & Gender Studies from the University of Dhaka. While her current practice primarily utilizes digital photography, she is equally interested in analog and alternative processes. She is fascinated mostly by the ordinary and mundane things. Through her practice, she aims to understand how people's personal lives are shaped by larger political forces and how individuals negotiate their identities to balance with the outside world. She sees the visuals she makes as a collective expression of her life experiences.
