Sri Lanka is blessed with beautiful natural sights and resources, but our greatest strength has always been its people. With this artwork I wanted to pay homage to the former in the style of a retro illustrated travel poster, while spotlighting the resilience and helpful nature displayed by our people in response to Cyclone Ditwah. May this unity carry forth long after the pains of the devastation have subsided.

Akila is an illustrator and graphic designer, who specializes in branding and commercial/editorial illustration. For his art he draws inspiration from everything from retro design to pop culture, and usually tries to put a tongue-in-cheek spin on everything if possible.
