Having worked as a journalist, economist and linguist, Abdul Halik Azeez's interest in documenting and interpreting the world around him finally settled into an interdisciplinary art practice. It now spans photography, video installations, performance and publishing. Ruminations about post-coloniality and late-capitalism emerge through studies of phenomena such as urbanisation, tourism and identity politics in post-war Sri Lanka. As a part of The Packet, Halik also builds curatorial projects, site specific interventions and other infrastructures of collective study.
