Mayun is a multidisciplinary artist and organizer based in Nilwella, a southern fishing village in Sri Lanka. Informed by burnout in tech-startups of Colombo, his self-taught practice draws deeply from the rhythms of coastal life, exploring masculinity, labor and rest ––as tradition, modernity and ecology clash in post-war Sri Lanka.
Favouring tactile and contemplative methods, Mayun’s artistic process reflects ephemeral encounters, personal narratives and direct experiences, channeling them into experimental and affective blends of medium across painting, photography, printed-matter, and text.

As an active member of The Packet, Mayun fosters collective, playful and intimate artistic interventions, like for the upcoming Singapore Biennale (2025) and regularly organizes gatherings like Monsoon Blues & Co., where sound, poetry, and performance intersect to engage community and cultivate dialogue.
