Untitled: Ahmad Alaqra
This image is part of a series that explores the void as an incubator for the body and as a portal into the sacred landscape of Palestine. Here, the sacred is not religious but habitual—rooted in repetition, intimacy, and daily encounter. The void becomes a quiet field of attention, a canvas that amplifies the presence of each object within the image.
Ahmed Alaqra is an artist, curator, and architect whose practice examines the aesthetics of power in everyday life. Working across media, he uses unmaking and unlearning to challenge dominant narratives and reimagine collective perception. He has exhibited and curated widely across Europe and the Arab world, including projects at the Palestinian Museum, Al Qattan Foundation, Dar Jacir, Hayy Jameel, ICD Brookfield Place, and Spore Initiative. He co-founded the FANA’ Collective and EL-GORFEH, Palestine’s first community darkroom. His work and writing appear in FOMU, The Funambulist, Jerusalem Quarterly, and Arab Pop, and he authored I Died a Thousand Times.
